Terms and Conditions

By booking a stay with Country Bumpkin Yurts from 1/10/2020 to 31/10/2021 you are bound by The Coronavirus Booking Guarantee Version 2 as follows:

  • A deposit of 30% on booking to secure your stay.
  • The balance payment for your booking will be due 30 days before your holiday start date.
  • In the case of a cancellation for any reason, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd commits to giving you flexibility to move your holiday to any available date till the end of 2021 (the ‘rebooking window’) with no additional charges.
  • If you as the customer chooses a date where the same accommodation is only available at a higher price, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to charge you the additional prevailing rate for the stay.
  • No refunds will be repaid to the customer under this guarantee, either the deposit or full balance.

By booking a stay with Country Bumpkin Yurts from 17/05/2020 to 1/10/2020 you are bound by The Coronavirus Booking Guarantee.

By booking a stay with Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd from 17/05/2020, you are agreeing to the following:

–       A low initial deposit of 20% on booking to secure your stay.

–       –       In the case of a cancellation for any reason, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd commits to giving you flexibility to move your holiday to any available date within 18 months of the start date of your holiday (the ‘rebooking window’) with no additional charges.

–       If you as the customer choose a date where the same accommodation is only available at a higher price, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to charge you the additional prevailing rate for the stay.

–       No refunds will be repaid to the customer under this guarantee, either the deposit or full balance.

–       Balance Payments – Customers will be sent a reminder that their balance is due 13 days before their holiday start date. If you do not pay, you will be sent a further reminder each day until the balance has been paid. If as the customer you have failed to pay your balance 10 days prior to the holiday, you are in breach of contract and we will offer you a final opportunity to settle the balance. If you decline, Country Bumpkin Yurts are entitled to cancel that booking and the you would forfeit the deposit.
–       In the event of Country Bumpkin Yurts having to close as a result of Coronavirus restrictions, we commit to taking all reasonable endeavours to promptly communicate with affected customers that the accommodation will be closed and that the affected holidays will need to be amended.

All other elements of our terms and conditions remain the same, including our £50 per yurt security deposit policy.

All bookings made prior to 17/05/2020 or from 1/11/2021 are bound by the pre-existing terms and conditions regarding deposits, balance payments and cancellations.

Payments & bookings

Country Bumpkin Yurts will only accept bookings from persons over 18 years of age. We reserve the right to refuse a booking or group booking without a statement of reasons. A group discount could be applicable subject to availability and occupancy.

To secure your booking, you’ll need to pay 30% of the cost of your stay. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival. We will send you an email with a payment link when the balance payment is due. If the booking was made for a stay within 30 days, we will charge 100% of the balance at the time of booking.  A booking is only fully confirmed upon receipt of the final payment and agreement to our terms and conditions. No booking contract is entered into until payment has been received and we have sent confirmation declaring your reservation.

We also require a security deposit of £50 per yurt, to be paid before arrival. We will send you an email with a link to authorise this on your card before your stay. It will then be released within 7 days of your departure minus any damage or extra cleaning costs. This may be retained if any damage is caused by you during your stay, or the yurt requires extra cleaning, or if we have to respond to any noise complaints. We will inform you of how much we retain and why.

It is your responsibility to check the details on your booking confirmation are correct and notify us immediately of any discrepancies. We cannot accept responsibility for any errors not corrected prior to arrival.

The accommodation allocated to you on confirmation of your booking is provisional and we reserve the right to alter this to equally suitable accommodation at either site on arrival if necessary.

Booking Changes

If you need to make changes such as move dates this will be subject to a £40 administration fee. Changes may not always be possible. We will communicate with you regarding this.

Arrival & Departures

Please arrive after 3 pm. We will arrange for instructions and keys to be left in a safe place and will inform you of this via text or email on the day. Departure time is 10.30am on the final day of stay.


The prices on www.countrybumpkinyurts.co.uk are not binding; Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to modify these prices. At the time of booking, you will be informed of the prices applicable. The price stated on the confirmation/invoice is binding. Discounts and/ or special offers can no longer be used after the confirmation/ invoice has been sent by Country Bumpkin Yurts.

What is and is not included in price

Included in yurt rental:

Rental of yurt and the pitch area.

Bed, bathroom and kitchen linen & towels.

Use of kitchenette, communal kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Use of shared hot tub.

Use of and access to Country Bumpkin Yurts.

Use of water and electricity.

Use of initial wood for stove in yurt and hot tub including, wood, kindling, fire-lighters (extra wood can be purchased).

Cleaning of yurt after departure.

Not included:

Washing of the dishes. You are expected to do your own washing up and cleaning of spillages and food.

Everyday cleaning of yurts during your stay.

Sweeping of the floor during your stay.

Laundry service.

Wood for the firepit (this can be purchased on-site).


We understand that circumstances change and emergencies occur. If you must cancel your holiday, please inform us immediately. If you cancel up to 1 week prior to the booking start date, we will refund 50% of your payment. If you cancel within 7 days of the booking start date, all monies which have been paid will be forfeited.

We strongly recommend guests take out travel insurance.

Cancellation by us

Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserve the right to cancel or make changes to a holiday at short notice. If we cancel your holiday your full payment will be returned. Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd will not pay you compensation.

Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd also reserves the right to alter the yurt allocated or site locations at short notice if necessary, guests will be informed of any major changes to the booking before arrival.

Force Majeure

Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.

Guest Conduct

By completing a booking with Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd you are agreeing to behave in a proper, appropriate and legal manner with due respect to the farm and company owners, the property, other guests and their property and the local neighbours. If any guest behaves inappropriately (of which Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd will be the final judge of), or illegally, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to ask the guest and their party to leave the site before the end of the holiday. Any refund will be at the discretion of the owners.

Music is allowed but guests must be considerate of other guests and neighbours. No music after 10pm. If owners have to deal with any noise or disruption complaints of any kind, a fee of £50 will be charged to the person/ group causing said problems. This will be taken from the security deposit or an invoice will be sent.

You are responsible for informing us of any losses or damage to the property as soon as possible. Please note that you will be liable to pay us for any losses or damage to the property caused by you or a member of your party. You must also leave the property by the check-out time specified on your booking.

In addition, we reserve the right to pursue the guest for any loss, damage or injury caused to the owners (of Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd and Waterloo Cottage Farm), the property (including the property of Waterloo Cottage Farm) or to other guests and/or their property.


We do allow dogs on site. Maximum of 2 dogs per yurt. They must be kept under control and always kept on a lead whilst on-site during the duration of your stay. All dog poop/sick will need to be picked up and disposed of appropriately. If a dog does cause a nuisance during your stay, we reserve the right to ask you to make arrangements for your dog to be removed from the site for the rest of your stay. Refunds will not be given.  If your dog causes damage to any property or land on site, Country Bumpkin Yurts reserve the right the withhold the full or part amount of the £50 damage deposit. If the cost exceeds this, Country Bumpkin Yurts will invoice you accordingly for the cost of the damage. This must be paid within 14 days of receipt of our invoice. 
If you arrive without pre-booking a dog in, Country Bumpkin Yurts have the right to not allow the dog onto the site or will require the payment for the dog before giving access to the yurt. At the time of booking and at arrival on the farm, the dogs must be reported. There is a surcharge of £5 per dog per night.
As we are based on a working farm there are farm animals on site. Animals will include pigs, cattle, chickens and sheep. If your dog causes a nuisance and/or harms an animal the farm owners have the right to take what action is necessary. You will be held directly responsible and invoiced for the damage accordingly. This is at the discretion of the farm owners as well as Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd.

Cars & Parking

The parking area is located approximately 150m away from the yurts. For safety reasons, under no circumstances are cars to be driven beyond the allocated parking area. On your arrival, you will be directed to this parking area unless previously advised. We advise guests not to leave valuables unattended inside their vehicles.


Country Bumpkin Yurts is a self-catering experience so staff are not present all the time. Depending on when you arrive you may have to find your own way to your Yurt. There are no public rights of way through the camp so the general public are not allowed into camp, the only people you should see are other campers, staff or staff of Waterloo Cottage Farm. The yurts are lockable, however, we do advise guests not to leave valuables unattended inside.

An emergency contact number will be provided in your welcome pack should you need emergency assistance when staff are not on site.

Assumption of risks

You will be staying on a working farm with live animals, pond area and potentially dangerous farm equipment amongst other hazards. Whilst we take great care to keep you safe, accidents can happen and we are not held responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is your responsibility to ensure children and dogs are supervised at all times, including ensuring that they are unable to leave accommodation at night without supervision. Also, you must be aware that some of the camp equipment (such as the stoves) may be dangerous if misused. By using the wood burning hot tub you agree to be bound by the safety instructions for safe use and agree that these will not be used by any member of the party when under the influence of alcohol.

Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd accepts no liability for accidents, loss of property or personal injury incurred on site. In the event of guest misbehaviour or other necessary cause, we reserve the right to terminate the stay without any refund.

Whilst regular checks are carried out, if you notice any equipment looks faulty and/or unsafe you must inform us as soon as possible.

You will take responsibility, and will indemnify Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd against, any injuries or damage whilst they are using the facilities.

Prize Winners
Prizes given cannot be exchanged for the cash equivalent or sold to another person for cash benefit. If prizes are to be claimed by a friend or family member of the prize winner, Country Bumpkin Yurts must receive, in writing, permission from the prize winner. Without written consent, prizes cannot be claimed from anyone other than the prize winner.

Where the prize involves night stays, Country bumpkin Yurts reserves the right to offer select days for the prize to be redeemed and Country Bumpkin Yurts reserves the right to rebook a competition winner. In this case, Country Bumpkin Yurts will notify the prize winner up to 2 weeks before their expected arrival and will offer an alternative date for re-booking. The competition winner will not be entitled to any compensation.


All photos shared with Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd or directly with the owners through social media, will be free to be used without accreditation or payment by Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd

The Hot Tub Rules

In order to respect other guests on the site we politely ask that guests following these rules:

–         The Hot tub is not to be used between the hours of 11 pm – 8 am.

–         Please do not exceed 2 hours in the tub at any one time (so others can also use it)

–         Please keep noise levels down.

Country bumpkin yurts will thoroughly clean and re-fill the hot tub as required and check for any maintenance requirements. We ask guests that if they notice something that needs our attention please inform us as soon as possible.

Smoking/ vaping Policy

Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd operates a strict NO SMOKING/ VAPING POLICY inside any of our accommodation, including all Yurts and facilities. Anyone smoking on the site is responsible for disposing of their cigarette butts in a bin/ wall mounted ashtray and not littering the surrounding areas. Please smoke/ vape away from the yurts.

Prohibited Items

STRICTLY None of the following items are allowed on site: Fireworks, Chinese Lanterns and hunting equipment. Also, Illegal Substances, including but not limited to drugs and firearms (where caught local authorities will be notified).  We also ask the guests do not decorate the yurts with confetti or glitter.

Data Protection – Privacy

Your contact and personal details may be kept by us for future mailings and news. You may also opt-out of receiving emails at any time by contacting us or clicking the unsubscribe link in the e-mail. The booking process asks for your address details and phone numbers, these are required by the Local Authority so at any time we can prove you are not residents at the camp site. It also allows us to contact you should the internet fail and if we need to contact you whilst you are travelling to the campsite. Please note that your financial details are not stored by us.


Here at Country Bumpkin Yurts we like to think that with all our care you will not feel the need to complain. However, we appreciate at times there may be a situation where you have a genuine complaint. If this occurs, we ask that any complaints are made immediately so to allow us to rectify it as soon as possible for you to enjoy the rest of your stay. We ask for all complaints to bought to our attention verbally or via email to info@countrybumpkinyurts.co.uk


From time to time, work on the site may need to be carried out during your stay; this includes but is not limited to, maintenance of the yurts and/or facilities on the site, groundwork, car park maintenance or general work on the farm and surrounding area. If this is the case, you will not be entitled to or receive compensation.

To prevent the risk of fires, no other open flames except the log burner provided are to be in or within 3 meters of the yurts and facilities on site.

If you have left any of your belongings on-site after your departure, please get in touch to arrange collection. Any items left on-site after your departure will be kept for 30 days. If we have not heard from you after the 30 days, we will dispose of all items.

These terms and conditions will be reviewed and renewed when appropriate. The latest version will always be available on our website for you to read.
