Barbecues, Eton mess and fresh flowers….yep summer is definitely here at the Canvas Café!
We’re back to let you know what’s happening over the next few weeks at the Canvas Café. You can be sure that we’ll have something to keep you entertained, whatever the weather brings.
Friday 5thJuly – Yellowbird satay supper pop-up was a roaring success 
This month we teamed up with Yellowbird’s E’lain and her family to host the first Yellowbird Satay Supper Club. We were thrilled to have so many of you join us for the meal and to have the opportunity to witness a traditional Singaporean barbecue in full swing.
The weather came through for our barbecue, it was a true summer night. The air was warm and perfectly enhanced by the spicy, smoky smell of satay sticks sizzling over hot coals.
Our lovely guests dined ‘almost’ al fresco, we rolled up the canvas sides of the cafe and welcomed the outside in.
Weekly Children’s yoga sessions – Thursday 18thJuly (10–10:45), Thursday 1stAugust (11-11:45), Thursday 8thAugust (11-11:45
The brilliant Lara from Yoga Dabba Do will be holding weekly yoga sessions for children over the summer months. The sessions encourage well-being and mindfulness for children aged 4-11, and give you the chance to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake undisturbed.
There’s no need to book for this one. Simply show up on the day and pay the fee of £4 per child directly to Yoga Dabba Do.
Canvas Café Craft Evening Flower arranging with Claire – Friday 19thJuly 
Have you always wished for the ability to turn a few fresh flowers into a beautiful arrangement?
You’re in luck….This month’s Canvas Café Craft Evening will be a flower arranging session with Claire from Ginger’s Flowers.
During this session, Claire will teach us all the skills we need to know to create beautiful arrangements in our own home. As well take home your own hand-crafted flower basket full of the freshest flowers!

The month of Eton Mess
If you say summer….one of the first things that pops into our head is strawberries and cream!
And what’s better than strawberries and cream? … Well, Eton mess of course!
Eton mess is a childhood favourite of ours and we still can’t get enough of it. That’s why we’ve decided to make July the month of Eton mess!
In homage to Wimbledon and classic British flavours, we will be whipping up Eton mess to order, in the Canvas Café, throughout July. Using locally sourced, organic ingredients of course.
So for your sweet and creamy summer fix, you know where we are!
Our new menu is now live!
We are so excited to announce that, after months of tweaking, perfecting and, of course, taste testing, our new menu is now live.
You will now be able to order Stacked Toast and a Club Sandwich when visiting the Canvas Café.
Saturday 3rd August – Yellowbird Peranakan Popup
Following our Super Sell-out Satay Supper Club yellowbird will be returning in August with an altogether different sort of menu.
A 3-course menu has been designed to take you on a mini-tour of Singapore/Peranakan food. You will have the chance to get hands-on as you assemble your own POPIAH (a healthy, non-fried version of spring rolls), go native by eating your main of beef rendang, ayam goreng (spicy fried chicken) & stir-fried fine beans right off a banana leaf and then finish your evening with a sweet treat of KUEH DADAR a coconut crepe pancake filled with gula melaka & dessicated coconut. Yum!
The first satay supper club sold out and we hated having to disappoint those of you who enquired about booking after the places had filled up. Please send Yellowbird a message on Facebook asap if you’d like to come along, in order to avoid disappointment.
