Spring 2018 will see the launch of our Canvas Café!
There are some exciting developments at Country Bumpkin Yurts this year. We have been talking about New Year, new adventures; and that is exactly what the year is bringing for us. The Canvas Cafe will be launching in Spring. Our Canvas café will specialize in serving and celebrating great local food and drink. We’ll also serve you the best afternoon tea!
From the very beginning, a country café has been a key part of our vision at Country Bumpkin Yurts. We want to provide the opportunity for people to get together and to take-in the countryside in a relaxed and unique environment. The café will be housed in a beautiful big marquee and will be filled with flowers and fairy lights. This, along with its location on Waterloo Cottage Farm right next to the community garden, will make it a cafe destination unlike anything you will find in town. It will be a mini countryside adventure.

We have an abundance of incredible produce in the area. Leicestershire and Northamptonshire boast a huge number of passionate people producing high-quality food and drink. When you eat with us, you’ll be able to trace your meal back to where it came from. For example, you’ll notice a lot of Waterloo Cottage Farm’s food on our menu. Their animals are truly free range and pasture fed (as you will see when you come to visit us); we are proud to serve meat from happy and healthy animals. This is really important to us at Country Bumpkin Yurts!
Just like the glamping, our café will have eco-friendliness at its heart. The place will be full of recycled and eco-products and by using local suppliers, we reduce our food miles. You will also see the fun we have had upcycling furniture to create the cafe country chic decor.
The Canvas Café will be open to both glamping guests and the public all year round. Everyone is welcome. It will be a family-friendly space where dogs are also welcome (because they are also part of the family). We’ll be open for teas and coffees, homemade cakes, and freshly cooked meals. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and early dinner will all be catered for. We will also serve a fantastic afternoon tea. In the evening, the Canvas Café will become a funky event venue. We will run regular events ourselves but will also allow people to hire the venue to host their own events. We love the idea of a comedy night under canvas. And it would make a brilliant space for a surprise birthday party, they would never see it coming!
We are so excited to be bringing the Canvas Café to Country Bumpkin Yurts this spring. Our dream of creating a country café with a difference is fast becoming a reality. We will keep you updated on its progress and invite you all to join us for afternoon tea once our doors have opened. Watch this space!
In the meantime, we are looking for support to get the Canvas Café off to a good start so keep an eye out for our Crowdfunder campaign which will go live on 14th March 2018. Pledging towards our funding target will get some great rewards, including a glamping break at a discounted price!
