Where do we stand with Coronavirus and glamping?

Coronavirus. None of us saw it coming, none of us could have predicted the impact it would have, and none of us would wish the consequences of this pandemic on anyone.

These are uncertain and worrying times for us all. Lara and I would like to take a moment to wish you well and send you love (from a distance of course). We’d also like to thank those who have been enquiring about our health and happiness during this time. We are doing ok; there is an element of comfort in knowing that we are all in this together and will work through it together too.

Many of you have been asking about Country Bumpkin Yurts and how this pandemic will affect the glamping bookings made with us this year. Read on for our answers to the key questions…

1 – Are you open?

In line with government guidelines, we have closed the yurts for the time being. The government is trying its best to discourage unnecessary travel and to reduce the spread of the virus. We wholly support this and will continue with the closure of our yurt glamping site to help protect people for as long as we need to. It makes sense; social distancing in a shared yurt with friends and family is near impossible. We can’t deny that we are sad to be closed though, especially when we don’t yet know how long these measures will be in place.

2 – What if I have already booked a yurt?

We’re sorry that this has happened at a time when you were meant to be enjoying a glamping break!

We’d like to reassure you that your booking will not be lost. You are more than welcome to move your holiday dates so that you don’t miss out. Think of it as simply putting your staycation on hold until a future date. There is no charge for rearranging your stay.

 

We understand that with everything going on, rearranging your glamping trip may not be at the top of your list so there is no need to do anything right now. You can choose your new dates whenever you are ready. When you have new dates in mind, just let us know.

We are at the end of the phone or email if you’d like to discuss your booking further (or if you simply fancy a chat). We will keep you updated as and when things change. Following us on Facebook is a good way to keep in the loop.

3 – Are you still taking future bookings?Coronavirus and glamping

Yes, we are. We are confident that we will be able to reopen soon enough and we have thorough coronavirus safety measures and procedures in place to protect our guests. For added peace of mind, we have increased the flexibility of our booking process. We have reduced our deposit amount (down from 100% back in the pre-covid era) and the remaining balance is due closer to your arrival date. We have signed up and committed to Cool Camping Coronavirus Booking Guarantee so that we can offer this flexibility alongside other staycation destinations. There have been 2 versions of this guarantee since the beginning of covid so I have outlined the original and the updated one below:

By booking a stay with Country Bumpkin Yurts from 1/10/2020 you come under The Coronavirus Booking Guarantee Version 2 as follows:

  • A deposit of 30% on booking to secure your stay.
  • The balance payment for your booking will be due 30 days before your holiday start date.
  • In the case of a cancellation for any reason, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd commits to giving you the flexibility to move your holiday to any available date till the end of 2021 (the ‘rebooking window’) with no additional charges.
  • If you as the customer chooses a date where the same accommodation is only available at a higher price, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to charge you the additional prevailing rate for the stay.
  • No refunds will be repaid to the customer under this guarantee, either the deposit or full balance.

If you booked a stay with Country Bumpkin Yurts from 17/05/2020 to 30/09/2020 you come under The Coronavirus Booking Guarantee Version 1 as follows:

  • A low initial deposit of 20% on booking to secure your stay.
  • The balance payment for your booking will be due 10 days before your holiday start date.
  • In the case of a cancellation for any reason, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd commits to giving you the flexibility to move your holiday to any available date within 18 months of the start date of your holiday (the ‘rebooking window’) with no additional charges.
  • If you as the customer chooses a date where the same accommodation is only available at a higher price, Country Bumpkin Yurts Ltd reserves the right to charge you the additional prevailing rate for the stay.
  • No refunds will be repaid to the customer under this guarantee, either the deposit or full balance.
