Country Bumpkin Yurts has been hosting holidays for a month now.
Since our first guests in June, we have introduced loads of people to glamping on a farm. We have welcomed families, friends, and couples celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. All have loved our yurts and enjoyed their posh camping holiday. And we have been so encouraged by all their comments and feedback. Country Bumpkin Yurts has made a cracking start!
So, what have people enjoyed so far?
The little bit of ‘different’ that we offer
What first comes to mind when I reflect on our conversations with our guests is their attraction to trying something different. Many of our guests so far have been first-time glampers. Or it was their first time staying in yurts. They were all drawn to Country Bumpkin Yurts as it was a little bit different to other holiday options. For some, they had been used to camping but wanted something easier (and nicer) than having to pitch their own tent and spend the night in sleeping bags. For others, they would normally frequent hotels but were feeling adventurous this summer. All have said they had a great time. It is lovely to have shared our slice of luxury yurt heaven with such varied groups of people.

The peacefulness
The feedback that we have received about glamping on a farm has all mentioned the peacefulness of the site and surrounding area. Guests have had time and space to relax and chill. They have loved the nature (both wild and domestic) on the site. The sounds of the trees, birds and animals have been delightful – a few have even said they found the sound of the rain on the yurt canvas relaxing. The kids have made good friends with the little lambs too.

The yurts
All guests seem to have fallen in love with our yurts. We don’t blame them – we love them too.

The hot tub
Our wood-burning hot tub has proved super popular. It took us a little while to perfect the technique for heating it and keeping the fire going at the right rate but we are now masters. Humble hot tub masters. We gather it has been well used morning, afternoon and night. What a great investment for the glamping site. One day, we’d love to have a hot-tub per yurt. For now, sharing the hot tub between the three yurts is working well.

The Brampton Valley Way
Many of our guests have made good use of The Brampton Valley Way – a bridleway from Market Harborough to Northampton. Some have brought bikes and gone for a ride. Others have walked a couple of miles to Market Harborough and spent the day in the town. Having such easy access to the path has been a big bonus to our guests. We have even bumped into guests along the track whilst walking our dogs – what are the chances eh?
The hampers
Our welcome and romantic hampers have been praised by our guests, which is nice. We have also had great pleasure making them. The romantic hamper is our favourite. The flowers, which we get from a local florist, Jessica Mary Flowers, are beautiful. The chocolate which is local, luxury and handmade by Nenette Chocolates is beyond delicious. And the soy-wax Candles from Candle Luci smell divine. Oh, and the bubbly goes down well too! We get a real kick out of providing this lovely hamper knowing it is supporting and promoting other local small businesses. This has been reflected by the guests too.
