Glamping; taking the hassle out of camping.

Glamping; taking the hassle out of camping.

Glamping is a wonderful solution for nature-loving stay-cationers.

With its outdoor setting and luxurious touches, glamping combines the best of camping with the comforts of home. Glamping makes an outdoor adventure accessible to more people. This is one of the many reasons why we love it.

Glamping; taking the hassle out of camping.

I recently had a conversation with a family staying at Country Bumpkin Yurts, where they spoke about the sheer relief of arriving at a campsite (or glamping site) when everything is set up and ready. They said that having the tent pitched or the cabin ready made a huge difference to the start of their family holiday. It took all the hassle away. The kids could dive straight into the fun and they could begin to relax.

This conversation reminded me of why I moved from camping to glamping. Or upgraded if you like. Glamping allowed me to start my holiday straight away – with no extra work required. It reduced the need to pack so much, and therefore the potential to forget important equipment. Don’t get me wrong, I love camping. I plan to go away in a tent with the dog and the boyfriend later this year (he doesn’t know this yet – I should probably tell him). But the ease and glamour of glamping make a back-to-nature-holiday so much better. Sleeping in a proper bed and having space to move around makes all the difference. Families have explained that it is so much easier with their children too. I can understand why.

Different glamping sites have different levels of services.

Most of them provide real beds and bedding. That alone saves a tonne of packing and gives you more space in the car for games (or wine…). Glamping sites will also have kitchen facilities so that you don’t need to bring your own camping stoves, crockery and glasses etc (space for even more wine?). It is best to check the website of the place you will be staying to see what they have.

At Country Bumpkin Yurts we:

  • dress the beds
  • provide the towels
  • provide all the wood you need
  • have a BBQ ready (you’ll need your own coal)
  • have the kitchen ready – so all you’ll need to bring is your own food (or you can buy what you need from Waterloo Cottage Farm Shop on site)
  • the bathrooms ready – so you only need to bring your fav toiletries

Talk about hassle free!

The British countryside is a wonderful place to enjoy a staycation. It’s great to see more and more people choosing to stay and explore the UK for their holiday. Glamping is the perfect way to do this and it’s suitable for all ages and backgrounds. It’s like camping with its sense of adventure but without packing the kitchen sink (sometimes literally) and pitching a tent. Someone else does the hard work so that you can simply turn up and relax. And you don’t have to sacrifice either your home comforts or the elements of camping that you love. Just think, nice bedding, a warm stove, and the blissful sound of rain on canvas. The best of everything.

Our yurts are available for posh camping breaks this summer. To have a go at hassle free glamping, check out the availability calendar on our website here. We have 3 yurts; 2 that sleep 4-6 and 1 that sleeps just 2. And we welcome doggies – they are part of the family and love glamping breaks too. Summer prices are from £120 per night.

We’ll see you soon x
