Launch event
With less than two weeks till we launch our Yurt camping UK site, we are super excited (and busy!). We are looking forward to showing you what we have been up to. It is also Open Farm Sunday so there is plenty going on at Waterloo Cottage Farm.
We hope Sunday 11th June 10am – 4pm is in your diary.
We are hosting a fun launch event to give everyone the opportunity to see what luxury camping looks like in Market Harborough. It is also important for us to celebrate this milestone in Country Bumpkin Yurts’ development. A glass of bubbly is well deserved, right?
So here is what’s happening on the day:
Tour the yurts
Come and have a nosey at the three yurts. We will have them all open so you can see what they look like inside and out. Many people ask us what yurts/ gers are so coming to see them will be the best way learn about them.
Chat to us
We will be there to share our story with you. We are passionate about providing peaceful, beautiful glamping breaks and we’d love to tell you why. Why not join us for a chat over a glass of bubbly or a cup of tea.
Farm Tours
Sunday 11th is also Open Farm Sunday so Kirsty and Angus will be showcasing their wonderful farm. You can book onto a tour to be taken around the whole farm and meet all the animals. They will also talk about why they have chosen to rear their animals in a truly free-range and chemical-free way. How interesting!
Pork Pie Making
Waterloo Cottage Farm make the BEST pork pies! Book a class on how to make pork pies just like they do. It will cost you £20 per person and will be worth every penny! Email Waterloo Cottage Farm to book: info@waterloocottagefarm.co.uk.
Wine Tasting
Does this need explaining? I didn’t think so. No need to book either – bonus.
Wood Carving
There will be some very talented local wood carvers at the farm for us to watch and get involved in. Make a wooden spoon with Liam or watch Angel make a chainsaw animal. Now, this is something we’ve never tried before but can’t wait to have a go.
Herbal Remedies
A local herbalist, Julia, will be teaching us how to grow our own herbal remedies in her healing gardens. Fascinating. Julia will also show us her wonderful print skills. She makes bright and beautiful, hand cut and pressed lino prints and cards
Bug Hotels and Seed Sowing
The community garden will be open for you all to see. The garden volunteers and Sustainable Harborough team will be there to build bug hotels with and help you sow some veggie seeds. Get your green fingers ready.
Food and Drink
During all this, you will be able to enjoy some lovely lunch and a drink in the garden. It will be the perfect setting for a relaxing and tasty lunch with the family. Either sit in the garden or down by the yurts. Here’s a little glimpse at the menu: pulled pork and apple sauce rolls and strawberry tarts. Yum!
Finally…
During the yurt camping launch, we will be announcing the lucky winner of our FREE weekend giveaway! This is the cherry on the cake.
